Treacherous Three – The Body Rock

"The Body Rock" is a song by Treacherous Three, released in 1980 as a 12 inch single on Enjoy Records. Written and produced by Bobby Robinson, the track featured group members Kool Moe Dee, Special K, and L.A. Sunshine trading verses over a guitar driven groove that blended early hip hop with rock elements. It was later compiled on the group's 1984 self titled debut album for Sugar Hill Records alongside other early Enjoy Records singles such as "At the Party" and "Feel the Heartbeat." The track was sampled on Akon's 2005 single "Belly Dancer (Bananza)," and gained a wider audience decades earlier when it was also sampled for Mariah Carey's 1997 single "Honey."
