Bette Midler – Cool Yule

"Cool Yule" is a song by Bette Midler, released in 2006 as the title track of her holiday album Cool Yule, through Columbia Records. A cover of the 1953 Christmas standard written by Steve Allen and originally introduced by Louis Armstrong, Midler's version was produced by Robbie Buchanan as part of a collection of traditional Christmas songs alongside a reworked take on her own hit, "From a Distance." The album debuted on the Billboard 200 in late November 2006, reaching number 33, and was nominated for the Grammy Award for Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album in 2008. Midler's take joined earlier covers of the song by Roseanna Vitro and the Brian Setzer Orchestra, extending the reach of Allen and Armstrong's original recording.
