"Mockingbird" is a song by Eminem, released on April 25, 2005, as the fifth single from his fifth studio album, Encore, through Aftermath, Shady, and Interscope Records. Written and produced by Eminem with Luis Resto, the same collaborator behind "Lose Yourself," the track interpolated the lullaby "Hush, Little Baby" and was addressed directly to his daughter Hailie and adopted niece Alaina, reflecting on his divorce from Kim Mathers and his rise to fame. It peaked at number 11 on the Billboard Hot 100 and was later certified five times platinum by the RIAA, and its music video, directed by John Quigley, surpassed one billion views on YouTube. The song followed a similar autobiographical thread to Eminem's earlier single "Cleanin' Out My Closet," this time turning his attention from his mother to his children.
