"The Power of Love" is a song by Céline Dion, released on November 1, 1993, as the second single from her third English language album, The Colour of My Love, through Columbia and Epic Records. Originally written and recorded by Jennifer Rush in 1984, the ballad was produced for Dion by David Foster, fresh off his work on Whitney Houston's "I Will Always Love You," and marked the second Jennifer Rush song Dion had covered that year. It topped the Billboard Hot 100 for four weeks, becoming her first number one single in the United States, and also reached number one in Australia and Canada. The song earned a Grammy nomination for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance and remained one of the most frequently performed songs of Dion's career, including regular appearances during her Las Vegas residency shows.
