Snow – Informer

"Informer" is a song by Snow, released in August 1992 through EastWest America and Motor Jam Records as the first single from his debut album, 12 Inches of Snow (1993). Produced by MC Shan, who also contributed a rap verse, the reggae and dancehall track became known for its fast toasting delivery and the recurring line "a licky boom boom down." It spent seven consecutive weeks at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 and topped the charts in eleven other countries, while its music video, directed by George Seminara and set in a jail, echoed Snow's real incarceration on assault charges at the time of the song's release. In 2007, VH1 ranked it number 84 on its list of the 100 Greatest Songs of the 90s.
