"Lean on Me" is a song by Club Nouveau from their 1986 debut album Life, Love & Pain. The track was a reworked version of Bill Withers' 1972 classic, transformed with drum machines, electronic production, and the contemporary R&B sound that shaped much of mid-1980s urban music. While keeping the original message about friendship and support, the group's version introduced the song to a younger audience and became one of their biggest crossover hits during the freestyle and post-disco era.
