Chaka Demus & Pliers – Murder She Wrote

"Murder She Wrote" is a song by Chaka Demus & Pliers, released in 1992 in Jamaica before being included on their 1993 album, Tease Me, through Mango Records. Produced by Sly Dunbar, Robbie Shakespeare, and Lloyd "Gitsy" Willis and built on the Bam Bam riddim, the track combined Chaka Demus's deejay style with Pliers' singing after years of Pliers reworking the song with other producers since the late 1980s. It became the duo's signature hit, reaching the UK Top 40 and was later interpolated or sampled more than 50 times by other artists, including French Montana's "Freaks" and Pitbull's "El Taxi." In 2007, Chaka Demus & Pliers performed the song alongside Alicia Keys at the American Music Awards.
