"(Everything I Do) I Do It for You" is a song by Bryan Adams, released on June 17, 1991, as the lead single from both the soundtrack to the film Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves and Adams' sixth studio album, Waking Up the Neighbours, through A&M Records. Written by Adams with Michael Kamen and Robert John "Mutt" Lange, the same team that later wrote "All for Love" for The Three Musketeers, the power ballad topped the charts in at least nineteen countries and spent sixteen consecutive weeks at number one on the UK Singles Chart, the longest uninterrupted run in that chart's history. It also topped the Billboard Hot 100 for seven weeks in the United States and went on to sell more than 15 million copies worldwide, becoming Adams' most successful song. The song won a Grammy Award and was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Original Song.
