Davido – Dami Duro

"Dami Duro" is a song by Davido, taken from his debut studio album, Omo Baba Olowo, released through HKN Music. Produced by Shizzi and recorded in Lagos in August 2011, the Yoruba titled track, meaning "stop me," became the breakout single that pushed Davido from a promising newcomer into a certified Afrobeats star. Its music video featured cameo appearances from Wizkid and Burna Boy, and the song went on to top Gold Myne's list of the biggest songs of 2012, ahead of Iyanya's "Kukere," while also winning Hottest Single of the Year at the 2012 Nigeria Entertainment Awards. More than a decade later, the track is still cited as one of the songs that helped define the modern Afrobeats sound Davido went on to build his career around.
